My Experience

My Experience

In 2002, I started studying with Pia Mellody at The Meadows in Wickenburg, Arizona. I completed all of her Post Induction Therapy training workshops and continued to regularly train with her at her Couples' Boundary Workshops.

I specialize in leading workshops in my private practice for individuals with trauma using Pia Mellody's PIT method that investigates the origins of adult dysfunctional behaviors. I have been conducting these workshops for 18 years in my private practice. I encourage other therapists learning this model to "sit in" on my Healing Your Childhood Trauma workshops to deepen their understanding of the model. I also offer video conferencing consultation groups on a monthly basis.

I started in 2013 the "Healing Our Core Issues Institute" in partnership with my colleague Dr. Rick Butts. We now offer on-going professional training's for therapists wanting to learn our Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) Model which is an integration model informed by Pia Mellody’s Core Issues work along with other attachment, mindfulness and body based methodologies.

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) which is a type of trauma work created by Peter Levine. Somatic Experiencing (SE) gently moves and heals stored trauma in the body. It deactivates the negative energy and promotes settling in the nervous system that creates space and capacity for energy to move through the body rather than to be stuck. I use Somatic Experiencing in effectively working with my clients to heal and alleviate the pain from trauma in their life and relationships.

From 2002 to 2006, I studied with Terry Real at the Relational Life Institute, Arlington, MA. I completed all of his training, including the advanced levels. The Institute is dedicated to providing men and women, the insight and the tools to recover the state of wholeness and connectedness in their significant partner relationship. I continue to use this model and now include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) by Susan Johnson, in my couples work to help repair and create safety and attachment.

During my 26-year career, I have had the pleasure of working with other great teachers and mentors such as Brugh Joy, MD (Heart Centering Work) and Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D (Mindfulness Practice) and I incorporate their teachings in my private practice.

I have been in private practice for 27 years working with individuals and couples. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have a master’s degree in counseling psychology. I enjoy my work and bring my years of experience and expertise to all my clients.

Scheduling an Appointment

Please contact me via email or by phone at 781-733-0625. I will return all calls within 72 hours.

Fees and Methods of Payment

My fee is $200 per hour (50 minutes) for individuals due at time of service. Payment for services through Venmo, Zelle and credit cards (I add 5% to cover credit card fee). If you have other questions, please give me a call at 781-733-0625.

What about Insurance?

I do not take insurance. If you have a PPO (preferred plan option) which allows you to go out of network, I am more than happy to provide you with receipts regarding your sessions. If you choose to file the claims and seek reimbursement from your insurance company, those receipts that you send in will contain all the proper codes and diagnosis needed to process.

It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to determine whether the services you are seeking are covered, what the limits are to that coverage, what deductible you have before they reimburse you and at what rate. All mental health insurance companies require a psychiatric diagnosis, and sometimes, something as benign as an adjustment disorder, can impede your ability to obtain life insurance or even medical insurance if you are self-employed.

Cancellation/No Show

Please keep in mind that when you reserve time for your appointment, I am also reserving that time for you. When you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please call or email me at least 48 hours in advance; that allows me to try to get a client who might be waiting for an appointment to fill that slot. Late cancellations and No Shows will be billed at the full rate for the time scheduled.
